Fellow (FRCCO)

This exam is the College's highest academic distinction, assessing a wide range of practical and theoretical skills; the expected level of performance is comparable to that required for a graduate degree in organ. The practical section of the exam includes organ repertoire and advanced keyboard skills including improvisation in larger forms; there are two written papers, with questions on analysis, counterpoint, composition, and arranging, as well as organ literature. Prerequisite: Applicants must hold the Associate diploma of the RCCO, or the equivalent diplomas from the Royal College of Organists or the American Guild of Organists.

Fees
Complete diploma at one session - $500
One section of diploma only (including repeated exams) - $375

Dates
Examinations take place once a year in the spring. Registration opens on February 15, 2025, and applications must be submitted by April 1, 2025.

Written exams will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Practical exams are held during the last two weeks of May. Following the close of applications on April 1, the Board of Examiners will select Examination Centres for the current session according to the number of applicants and their locations. Candidates will be informed of the time and place of their examination. Candidates may be asked to travel to a nearby centre.
