St. Helen’s Anglican Church, Surrey, BC seeks a qualified musician on piano and pipe organ for the music ministry of the parish. Nestled in the heart of Surrey and the Lower Mainland, the congregation is vibrant and growing. The church celebrates 113 years of faithful ministry in November 2025 and is a designated heritage building. The parish is used to having an amateur choir over the years, however since the Covid 19 Pandemic the choir has been unable to form as a group. One of our goals is to rebuild the choir so that they are best able to lead congregational singing during worship. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Rector in planning liturgy, music, and hymn selections for each season. Over time, as the choir develops additional rehearsal time led by the musician may be required. Additional responsibilities include producing a written Music/Choir Report to be included in the annual Vestry package each year. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as described in the Royal Canadian College of Organists (RCCO) Salary Guidelines. This is a part time position, up to 10 hrs per week. As the music program extends beyond 10hrs, the musician will be compensated accordingly.
