We are inviting applications for an enthusiastic and accomplished Music Director / Organist / Pianist, who is a team player, dynamic leader, and who celebrates music as an integral part of its Ministry.

We have a three manual Casavant Organ with a rank of 56 stops and a Yamaha C3 grand piano in the sanctuary, plus an extensive choral music library.

Ideally the candidate should be skilled in pipe organ and piano techniques, choral conducting, and also be familiar with a variety of music styles, both contemporary and traditional. We seek a creative individual who is at ease working with people of all ages.

The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, along with a sense of humour. This person should be familiar with (and / or conversant in) the music and liturgy of the Christian Church.

We are seeking a committed individual who can work closely with the Minister and who will enjoy being a part of our close-knit community.

Core Areas of Responsibility

Leadership in worship planning, directing the Choir of around 14 members that practice weekly and sing each Sunday with the exception of the summer months. Available for Special Worship Services (Christmas, Easter, Weddings, Funerals, etc.).

The Director of Music will be given first opportunity to provide professional services for weddings and funerals held at Knox Presbyterian Church.

The Director of Music will have full use of the Church instruments and facilities for teaching purposes when this does not conflict with regularly scheduled Church activities.

This is a 12 - 15 hours per week position, with the salary commensurate on experience and qualifications, with the RCCO Salary scale as a guideline.
